A system of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Originating in ancient China, acupuncture is now widely practiced in the West.

 

What is 5 Element Acupuncture?

Think of those times when life was in balance.  Everything seemed to go smoothly, situations were handled efficiently and it seemed easy to move forward and step into new things.  5 E can help bring you back to that place.

5 Element (5E) is a very old style of acupuncture.  The goal is maintaining wellness.  To do this the focus is on balancing energy.  With balanced energy your body can better heal itself.  We all have our ways that we show our stress.  We get stuck in habitual ruts and become off balance.  Kirsten’s job is to help you back to that centered place and keep you there with periodic seasonal “tune ups”.

This type of acupuncture works on all levels – mind, body and spirit.  Most physical symptoms, pain, etc., will lessen as your body becomes more balanced.  The focus is more than just relieving symptoms though.  The focus is on paying attention to each person as a whole.  5 E looks at why a person has those symptoms and how can they best be prevented from happening in the future.

5 E is particularly effective in treating any trauma on all levels (mind, body, spirit).  Certainly a car accident can be traumatic with broken bones, cuts, bruises and persistent fears.  Minor incidences, even verbal conflict, can also leave their energetic mark.
